At the groups AGM on Thursday 24th September 2009 David Turnbull who has been the groups Chair since its incorporation stepped down. David was until earlier this year Church Warden for St Michael & All Angels Church. The Friends Constitution states that the Church Warden will be Chair. In the circumstances the decision was beyond his control. David remains a Committee Member and has been replaced by Alastair Bradley. The group thank David for his committment to the group as its Chair over the years.
The Committee of the Friends of Houghton Hillside Cemetery consists of 12 members.

Please note that Paul Lanagan is no longer part of the Friends of Houghton Hillside Cemetery having resigned from the Committee in December 2008.
The aim of the group is to restore and preserve Hillside. It is a task which cannot be done overnight but the group will endeavour to do this to the best of their capability.
You can become a member of the Friends for a subscription of £10 per annum (£15 per annum for overseas). Upon joining you will receive your welcome pack which includes maps, guidebooks and postcards. Thereafter you will receive a quarterly newsletter and also be notified of any forthcoming special events and Annual General Meeting.
