At the Friends AGM on 20th September 2012 the majority of the Committee were re-elected.  Ben Laidler was removed and Allan Spencer elected as a Committee Member.  Doreen Fenwick accepted the title of researcher as she has undertaken alot of research work over the last twelve months.

The Committee of the Friends of Houghton Hillside Cemetery consists of 12 members.

Please note that Paul Lanagan is no longer part of the Friends of Houghton Hillside Cemetery having resigned from the Committee in December 2008.

From A690 North  

Exit A690 at A182
Take the second exit at the roundabout
Next roundabout take the 3rd exit B1404 signposted Seaham
Next take the second left and then the second right
Turn left onto Ironside Street—At the top of the Street turn right onto Sunderland Street
Hillside is at the top of the Street next to the Farm
 
From A690 South
 
Exit A690 at A182
Take first exit at the roundabout B1404 signposted Seaham
Take the second left then the second right
Turn left onto Ironside Street—At the top of Ironside Street turn right onto Sunderland Street.

The aim of the group is to restore and preserve Hillside.  It is a task which cannot be done overnight but the group will endeavour to do this to the best of their capability.

You can become a member of the Friends for a subscription of £10 per annum (£15 per annum for overseas).  Upon joining you will receive your welcome pack which includes maps, guidebooks and postcards.  Thereafter you will receive a quarterly newsletter and also be notified of any forthcoming special events and Annual General Meeting.
